Win a Hornby Train Set

Posted by Toytown

Following the success of their Scalectic competition Sussex model retailer Modelzone have announced another competition, this time for a pair of fantastic Hornby train sets.

There are two prizes in this new competition which will run until new years eve. The first prize is a Eurostar train set that would set you back £120. A fantastic train set that features a Eurostar locomotive and passenger carriages along with a generous amount of track.

The second train set up for grabs is a £60 City Industrial train set. Now this is my favourite. These are the locomotives from a bygone era when trains like this would haul freight as well as passenger along many of Britains now disused branch lines.

To be in with a chance of winning all you need do is pay visit to the competition announcement on the Modelzone blog and answer one simple question. The question has been chosen to coincide with the James May’s Toy Stories episode in which he and his helpers re-establish the long disused rail link between Bideford and Barnstaple in Devon. You are asked ‘what is the distance between these two stations’. The answer is, of course, 10 miles.

So why not get your entry in and hopefully you will be a lucky winner.

  1. Zoe from Baby Furniture Sets Said,

My dad was well into his train sets when I was younger, had a whole spare room full of them. I’ve never seen the attraction myself.

  2. Jim from Conservatories Addington Said,

My son loves trains, he is so obsessed he always wants to go in the station when we walk past! I have got him some sets for Christmas which I am sure he will love. The train sets dont come in cheap either but be sure to buy good quality and they should last forever.

  3. mirchael from Inbound Call Center Said,

When choosing a Hornby Train Set one of the major decisions you’ll have to make is whether to go with a digital set or a non-digital set. The digital sets are more expensive but they provide the user with greater benefits such as more control and the ability to operate two independent digital locomotives on the same track. Since the digital sets do cost more money and are slightly more complex, they are best suited for older children and adults.

  4. Buy Acer Notebook Said,

    It’s a good deal

  5. Steve from contemporary sofas Said,

I love Hornby train sets, they were always built to a far higher standard than modern childrens toys. Generation after generation have owned Hornby train sets so my selection is huge but it’s always worth adding something else.
